60/40 Hybrid Polyester Resin for Fast Curing Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
HH2681 is a saturated polyester resin mainly applied to polyester/epoxy powder coatings. It features fast curing, excellent mechanical properties, and good storage stability.
For fast-curing powder coatings, the traditional concept is that adding the curing accelerator in the formulation design of powder coatings can easily achieve the goal of rapid curing; However, excessive reliance on additives often brings about other negative criticisms, such as poor leveling, yellowing and fading during baking, poor thermal storage performance of powder, etc.
In fact, the main raw material of powder coating is polyester resin. We can achieve this goal by using fast-curing polyester resin. Using fast curing polyester in powder coatings is often helpful in the following aspects. For example: (1) improve the crosslinking density, thereby improving the mechanical properties such as film hardness, cross-cutting adhesion, impact resistance, etc; (2) Reduce the curing temperature or shorten the curing time to achieve low temperature curing or rapid curing; (3) It blocks the melting and leveling of the powder, and realizes the control of the size of the texture and the stereoscopic sense; (4) It interferes with the slow or medium curing system to reduce the clear gloss while leveling.
