HAA Polyester Resin with Excellent Mechanical Properties for Primid Powder Coating

Introduction

KK7701 is a saturated carboxyl polyester resin designed for Primid T-105 powder coating to be cured at 180℃.

Powder coatings are solid powder synthetic resin coatings composed of solid resins, pigments, fillers, and additives. Different from common solvent-based coatings and water-based coatings, its dispersion medium is not solvent and water, but air. It has the characteristics of no solvent pollution, 100% film formation, and low energy consumption. However, compared with liquid coatings, powder coatings are easy to form pinholes, which affect the performance of the coating film, which is a problem that powder coatings must overcome. Many powder coating users will use benzoin for degassing, but while benzoin eliminates pinholes, it is also easy to cause yellowing of the coating film, and the problem is more prominent in the HAA system. We can use benzoin and degassing wax together to achieve the purpose of eliminating pinholes without yellowing the coating film.
